Job purpose
Responsible for providing leadership, technical guidance and coordination for the country program in Zimbabwe for the Safe and Inclusive Cities grant. The Safe and Inclusive cities program seeks to contribute to the development of a diverse and strong civil society in the country influencing urban governance and development processes and contributes to making cities safe and inclusive for young men and women. Reporting to the Program Support Manager, the National Coordinator will provide specialist guidance on this Grant in line with the approved Country Strategy and relevant policies.

Key responsibilities
Monitor expenses against approved budgets; Generate and maintain regular donor reports for all stakeholders; Supervise and build capacity of implementing partners and Plan International staff; Facilitate city level advocacy and campaigns including planning and implementation

Entry qualifications and experience
A degree in Social Sciences or related field with experience working with local civil society and coalitions to drive national agenda on children/girls' rights; A minimum of 5 years community development exposure coordinating development programs and implementing partners at a supervisor level; Ability to work with teams, communicate and coordinate with government departments and other agencies at various levels; Experience in liaising with donors, government officials and other NGOs; Experience in engaging city stakeholders, especially city authorities; Experience in financial, budget and administrative management or related issues; Experience in youth-driven programming; Knowledge in urban programming, in particular urban safety and livelihood; Knowledge of rights based approaches to development and civil society strengthening; 5 "O" levels including Mathematics and English Language
