African Consolidated Resources PLC Monday said it has appointed Roy Pitchford as acting chief Executive for an initial term that runs until the end of October, after which it expects to appoint a long-term CEO, Alliance News reported.
Picthford has more than 20 years' senior management experience in the southern Africa mining industry, the company said, having previously been CEO of African Minerals Ltd, Cluff Resources Zimbabwe Ltd, Delta Gold Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, African Platinum PLC, and Zimbabwe Platinum Mines Ltd.
The company said March 7 that the contract of former CEO Roy Tucker had been terminated. It didn't give any reasons for Tucker's departure, but wished him well for the future and said he'd agreed to continue helping the company with its future business.
