Delta Beverages revenue expected to rise by 16%

Delta publishes a trading update for the quarter ending December 31 2012 saying revenue for the quarter October to December is up 14% and 16% year to date supported by improved mix and minimal price increases.

Lager beer volumes for the 3rd quarter were 5% ahead of prior year and 7% up for the 9 months to December 2012.

Sparkling beverages volumes are up 8% for the quarter and 10% for the 9 months.

Sorghum beer volumes were down 10% for the quarter and 9% for the 9 months, a trend consistent with that for the first half of the year.

Revenue for the quarter October to December is up 14% and 16% year to date supported by improved mix and minimal price increases.

The increase in Excise Duty to 45% from 40% has been disruptive on both volumes and retail pricing due to lack of small denomination coinage. The impact on business is expected to be minimal.

Star Africa publishes a further cautionary statement saying the company is still engaged in discussions that may result in transactions that could have a material impact on the value of the company’s shares.
